How to Make More Money With Google Adsense ???

If you are just starting a blog or are thinking about starting a blog, I bet you’re licking your chops with visions of making the big bucks with Google Adsense! When I first started blogging, I thought that Google Adsense was going to be my gold mine. It seemed like every site I clicked on had pictures of bloggers holding Adsense checks for thousands of dollars.

Within the first couple of days, I created a basic layout for my site and then added Google Adsense as quickly as I could! Every couple of hours I would check my account to see if anyone clicked on an ad, but it was always the same result. Zero clicks and zero money…

So How Do You Make Money With Google Adsense?

In the first month of blogging, I got lucky and earned $5.01. The second month was $0.95, and then my next month’s earnings were $0.00!! I couldn’t believe it. How in the world did some people earn thousands of dollars a month with Adsense? Here are three methods that have helped me increase my profits to a point where Google cuts me a check every month!

1) Improve Your SEO and Increase Your Search Traffic

There are multiple ways to improve your Search Engine Optimization. First of all, you’ll want to download a plug-in that captures your desired keyword, title, and meta words. I personally use WordPress SEO, which has helped tremendously.

Second, in order to receive more traffic through the search engines, it’s best to keep writing those articles! If your blog has 10 articles and your friend’s has 10,000, who do you think will receive the most search engine traffic? Your friend of course! Add more articles and you’ll see more traffic coming into your site.
Third, find topics that are heavily searched, but don’t have a high competition. For example, let’s say your blog is about golf instruction and you notice that the key phrase, “hit a straight drive” is searched for 250,000 times per month, but has very little competition, it would be wise for you to write an article that is 100% tailored to this key phrase because you’re likely to get a lot of that traffic to your site! 2) Improve Your Click Through Rate

If you have an Adsense account, you’ll notice that there’s a section of your Performance Report with the heading, “CTR”. This is your click through rate. In other words, this is a percentage that represents how many ad clicks you get per site clicks. So, if your page receives 1,000 clicks in a day, and your ads only get clicked on once, then your CTR is 1/1000, or 0.1%.




So how does one improve their CTR? Of course there is no exact science, but I’ve discovered a few methods that work, and both of them relate to the formatting of your Adsense ad and the positioning.

• Format Your Font and Color to Match Your Site – I don’t believe that the size of the ad necessarily matters, but the color and font play a big role for sure. Web surfers are a lot more knowledgeable these days. They probably aren’t going to click on a flashing, loud-colored ad because they know it’s going to take them someplace they don’t want to go. Try to match your ad font and color to your site’s font and color. The more your ads look like a part of your site, the more likely they’ll be clicked on.

• Position Your Ad in Highly Visable Areas – When a visitor comes to your site, their eyes naturally gravitate to certain areas whether they know it or not. Their brains have been conditioned to know where the meat of the information is that they’re looking for.

Take a look at the image to the right. This is called a “Google Heatmap”. Based on Google’s research, they’ve discovered all of the most viewed areas. You can see that the absolute best place for your ads are within the upper portion of your content, the top of the left sidebar, the area just above the primary content, the left side of the primary content, and just underneath the primary content.

I’m hoping that you can see the pattern here…. PRIMARY CONTENT. If you have a blog with readers, then obviously your readers are enjoying your content, and that’s what they’re looking for every time they visit! Place your ads around your content and you’ll definitely see your CTR improve.

3) Get Paid More Per Click

I know that most of you think the pay rate is up to Google, and I suppose that is partially true, but you definitely have an impact on your CPC earnings as well!





If you haven’t yet started a blog, then I would strongly caution you to figure out which topics pay the most money in Adsense before you officially launch your blog. That way, you can tailor your blog to some of the best paying Adsense phrases out there!

If you’ve already started your blog, don’t worry, you can always find a topic that will pay better than another, but still mold it to fit the niche of your blog. The best way to find out what your ad clicks might pay you is to research what it would cost a person to advertise through Google Adwords.

 Visit the Google Traffic Estimator and put in a few different keywords that would relate to your site. Take note which ones pay the best and try to write a few more articles around those topics. Within a few weeks, you should notice a rise in your Adsense earnings.
